The museum of modern and contemporary art, called the MAMAC museum, has opened on 21 June 1990 in Nice. The museum can be recognised thanks to the impressive architecture (a surface of about 4000mē, with a white marble frontage in neo-classical style…) connected to the National Theatre of Nice through a terrace called the ‘Promenade des Arts’. The artistic programme is mostly about the New European Realism and the American expression of art of assemblage and Pop Art from the end of the 1950s to our days.
